Execution at Camp 21 (Original title)Scotland's Nazi Murder (Alternative title)
Date: 05 October 1999 (Television)

Countries: Scotland, United Kingdom

Director: Alistair Scott

Synopsis: Documentary examining the case of the murder of German prisoner of war Wolfgang Rosterg by his fellow prisoners in 1944, after the SS officers in the camp tried him and found him guilty of being a traitor. Looks at how he was transferred to a camp in Scotland and is critical of the authorities who moved an anti-Nazi German soldier into a camp full of fervent Nazis. Includes re-enactments of the events and consideration of the reasons behind the killing. Includes evidence from the newly accessible file on the case, which contains the statements made by the men who were ultimately tried by the British courts for the murder of Rosterg and found guilty - although they were not the actual officers who instigated Rosterg's trial and sentence. It also makes clear that Rosterg was not an informer and that the real reasons for his trial and sentence were his anti-Hitler, anti-Nazi remarks.
