Synopsis: Documentary. Musical film featuring acclaimed guitarist Ry Cooder, and the making of the album entitled Buena Vista Social Club featuring the "band" put together to record it, composed predominantly of musicians from Cuba, mature in age but still going strong - the youngest of the group being 42 years old.Synopsis: Documentary about the collaboration between the acclaimed blues guitarist Ry Cooder, and the band of mainly elderly Cuban musicians who worked with him on the `Buena Vista Social Club' album in 1996. These included Joachim Cooder, Ibrahim Ferrer, Rubén Gonzáles, Eliades Ochoa, Omara Portuondo and Compay Segundo. Follows Cooder in 1998 on a further trip to Havana for the recording of Ibrahim Ferrer's solo album and to sell out concerts with the `band' in Amsterdam and New York's Carnegie Hall.
