- SynopsisSir Martin Esham has died an agonising death after eating an unidentifiable curry dish, and just a few days after a significant amount of weedkiller has disappeared from the garden shed. Sir Martin's son, Stanley, has suffered an equally bizarre death by Chinese dagger. The residents of Wretching Hall, the Esham family home, have been called to give evidence. Bob Hammond, the eccentric painter of cows, has been charged with this murder most foul, but protests his innocence. Could this really have been the act of a jealous lover unable to satisfy his hunger for Lady Esham, or was Lady Esham herself unable to restrain her desperate urges? Someone has even said that the butler did it. Despite everything, the Crown Court jury must bring in a verdict. (Synopsis)
