Into the Woods (Original title)
Date: 2014 (Copyright)

Country: USA

Director: Rob Marshall

Synopsis: Musical fairy tale. Various fairy tale characters wishing for particular things head into the woods in search of them. A baker and his wife wish for a child, and look for four items to lift their spell of barrenness, cast by the witch who lives next door. Cinderella goes to the Prince's festival after visiting her mother's magical willow tree burial spot and finding herself in a beautiful gown, but she keeps running from the Prince when he wants her to stay. A hungry wolf menaces the plump Red Riding Hood, hoping to eat her. The witch is over-protective of her daughter Rapunzel and is angry that she falls in love with another prince and escapes her doorless tower. Young Jack sells his cow Milky-White for some magic beans and a beanstalk grows from them. He brings back giant gold coins and eggs from the giants' realm, but angers the giants, which brings havoc to the kingdom. In the midst of calamity, the survivors learn to help each other and not be so mindful of their own wishes.
