Synopsis: Europe, the Dark Ages. Young blacksmith Siegfried, not knowing that he is heir to a conquered kingdom, becomes popular with the Burgunds by slaying their bane, the dragon Fafnir. Bathing in the dragon's blood makes Siegfried near-invicible, but he is cursed by the magical Nibelungs when he steals their treasure from the beast's lair.
