Synopsis: Romantic drama in which a woman who seeks to escape from an abusive husband moves into a cottage and falls in love with a married man.Synopsis: A friendship develops between two quiet people. Redfern, married to the much more extrovert Mary, spends much of his time alone either fishing or carving wood. He meets Jean who is separated from her abusive husband and their friendship begins to blossom. Although both determine to keep the relationship entirely platonic, neither of them can escape the gossip of the other inhabitants of their Yorkshire village.
