A White Christmas at Harrods (Original title)
Date: 15 December 1994 (Television)

Synopsis: Harrods says it is an equal opportunities employer. This year they asked to leave or dismissed all but one of the black staff in the perfumery and cosmetics department (the first section that customers see when they enter). Black `job applicants' were turned down out of hand or told the application would take two weeks to process. A white `applicant' with an identical background was offered immediate work. Harrods is involved in 17 industrial cases compared to none in most stores. Other contributors include five ex-employees and a union rep.
