Synopsis: Formation drilling by the boys of Reedham Orphanage, Purley. A group of boys dressed in dark trousers and white shirts, and watched by spectators from a stand, perform formation drilling in a yard (171) Their instructor walks into picture, blows a whistle to disperse them while two chairs are brought into the middle. The boys reform around the chairs and hoist a single boy holding two flags as the apex of a formation. The chairs are removed and the instructor allows the boys to disperse (288)
