- SynopsisActor Montague Kent, after falling down some stairs in the block of flats in which he lives, is carried into the flat of a doctor where two burglars, disturbed cracking a safe, pose as doctors and diagnose Kent as having a weak heart. When Kent hears this news he cancels his impending wedding to Josephine Morrow without telling her why. Morrow mistakenly believes it is because he is in love with actress Tessa Burnett. In order to tell her the truth, Kent, with manservant Axminster and Burnett in tow, travel to the house of Doctor Morrow, Josephine's guardian. The doctor believes he has developed a serum for reviving the dead and, when he discovers that Kent could die from a shock, he persuades the group to stay for the night. The doctor's servant, Skelton, tries to scare Kent to death during the night, but to no avail. The doctor, therefore, uses his serum on an Egyptian mummy, which comes to life and goes on the rampage around the house. The mummy, however, turns out to be an actor who had been trying for some time to persuade Kent that he could play the part of the villain in his new play.
