Synopsis: The story of the discovery of remains of an entirely new species of human ancestor, Homo naledi. In 2013 two cave enthusiasts exploring a deep cave system, called Rising Star, near Johannesburg in South Africa discovered fossilised remains in a hidden chamber. The cavers took photographs to an expert in paleoanthropology who instantly recognised the bones as hominid.
