Director: Tomm Moore

Synopsis: Animated adventure of Irish mythology. Irish lighthouse keeper's young son Ben and silent daughter Saoirse (who is part human and part selkie, magically able to become like a seal) are sent to stay with their grandmother in the city, to prevent Saoirse from getting into peril in the sea. The children make their way back towards home, however, as Saoirse is drawn to the sea where she longs to sing her song of the sea, which will heal and release all the faeries and an ancient king who have been turned to stone by the owl-woman Macha, whose grief at the loss of her son was so strong that she takes every opportunity to remove all feelings from the world, leaving living beings like statues.
