Director: Mike Wadding

Synopsis: Jasper Maskelyne was once one of Britain's most successful stage magicians but some of his more impressive work did not take place on the stage but in the theatre of war. During World War II, as Rommel raged through North Africa, Maskelyne was creating illusions that contributed to Britain's success in the war. He has been credited with making Alexandria Harbour disappear, hiding the Suez Canal and disguising hundreds of tanks as innocent three-ton trucks.
