What brilliant gems With their magical glare deceive my eyes, Can they be real?" So sang Marguerite, and these are real _ over £100,000 of the latest jewel fashions - " (64). MCU of same woman adjusting hair with right hand, thus displaying jewellery on that arm and the earrings she is wearing (73). CU of arms and chest of different model displaying bracelet, brooch and ring (81). MS of another model which quickly cuts to CU of head, then moving down body showing various jewellery items (97). "Dazzling the eyes and the heart of Eve - how could Marguerite resist their lure?" (106). LS of same model that the item began with adjusting the dress she is wearing, and then two MCU's of her admiring her jewellery (129). "Sketchographs No.7. "Just supposing!"" (137). "Just suppose we have a summer - a real one - " (142). Animated sequence consisting of two wavy black lines which move down from top of frame to form a large black oval shape which sprouts two pairs of legs on either side in a horizontal position. The rays of the sun then appear in the top left corner of the frame (152). Dissolve to sketch of mermaid with words "YOO-HOO!" next to figure, followed by dissolve to sketch of Pan playing pipes, again with the words "YOO-HOO!" appended (166). "- and just suppose the crop of Peaches (on the Beaches) is large enough" (172). Lightning cartoonist sequence of the drawing of female figures lying on a beach with the phrase "ON THE SAND - IN THE GOOD OLD SUMMER TIME- " appearing upon completion of sketch (198). Dissolve into LS of women lying on a beach and performing exercises (205). "How about community exercises - ?" (208). Three ELSs of crowd of women performing community exercises on beach at a seaside resort, led by man with megaphone standing on a small platform (228). "All so nice - if only Old King Sol is kind!" (233). Two ELSs of five, then three, women performing classical Greek dancing on a rocky coastline (249). "Eliminating the weigh of all flesh!" (257). "Here's another novel device invented by Eve to get that slimmer feeling. A Turkish bath substitute" (266). LS of woman entering bathroom and picking-up bathtub-shaped board with tubes on one side that is standing next to the bathtub (287). "Just the usual bath and this steam apparatus connected - " (292). Series of LSs of woman placing device with tubes on underside into bathtub, connecting it to the tap via a hosepipe, and then getting into bathtub while wearing a swimming costume and covering herself with a large sheet (336). Dissolve to MS and then MCU of woman giggling and laughing while steam billows out from beneath the sheet (372). "The Riders. Something for the boys and girls - "(379). "Is there a boy or girl with soul so dead Who never to him (her) self has said..."I'd love a pony or a horse!"" (392). LS of children riding ponies in a line in field at riding school(?) (398). ELS of riders jumping small fence (408). "Born 1923 and going strong" (411). Three LSs of small girl on large horse performing tricks: standing up while horse stationery, making horse move in circle using hind legs only, and getting horse to kneel. Other children on ponies are watching in the background (438). "And when they bring out the Pushball, the going is even stronger....!" (444). Four ELSs of children on ponies playing a game with a large leather(?) ball, which is as big as the ponies, either pushing it with their ponies or their hands (480). ""New leaves!" from Paris" (488). ""Gay frocks for gay times", sums up these latest "Christiane" evening creations from the Gay City" (496). LS of six models walking one at a time onto a stage from doorway at left and standing in a line. These six, plus one other model who appears from right side of the shot, then step down from the stage and walk into left foreground and past the camera. All are wearing different fashion designs (530). "Very nice to wear all these dainty frocks - but behind the scenes all is rush and bustle under Madame's watchful eyes - everything must be "Just so"!" (542). LS of five of the models in dressing room changing clothing, supervised by `Madame' [Christiane?] (566). LS of one model walking onto same stage as before and displaying clothes to camera (582). "London's famous clubs & cabarets. The Lido Club Cabaret" (589). "Just about the time when most of us are asleep, is dancing time with Eddie's "Lido Venetians"..." (600). Two LSs of swing/jazz band playing, instruments including drums, double bass, guitar, saxophone, and violin, the latter played by the band's leader(?) who is standing. All are dressed in dinner suits (605). HAS/ELS of busy dance floor with tables around edge, all dancers formally dressed (609). "Producers, Dancers and well-known Stage Folk enjoying an hour away from the footlights" (617). MS of man sat at table surrounded by seven women (620). MS of couple sat at table being waited on by black waiter in Middle Eastern-type costume with fez (624). Floor level shot of dancers feet (626). "Here's Charlie Austin with his friend Billy Bennett - (and that moustache!)" (633). HAS/MS of two men stood laughing and talking. Bennett gestures to the camera, pointing his finger a couple of times (640). "And Billy Bennett with another friend!" (643). MS of Bennett and woman sat at table drinking (650). "At the witching hour of 1 a.m. the Lido Girls" (656). ELS of eight women wearing knee-length dresses walking onto dancefloor singing, whereupon three kneel down in front of the other five. The image is set within an oval picture frame throughout shot (663). HAS/ELS of the Lido Girls dancing, consisting mainly of high kicks (671). MS of couple at table watching (673). ELS of same dancers in a line, arms around each others waists, performing high kicks-type dance routine. The costumes have changed to a cross between pyjamas and Indian squaw attire (684). Dissolve to ELS and then back to HAS/ELS of dancers performing the splits. Return to ELS as the women stand and take a bow (699). "A little change - Eccentricity by Al Marshall" (704). ELS of diminutive male dancer performing comic dance (717). "The Spirit of Syncopated gracefulness - Anna Fey" (722). Three HAS/ELSs of female contortionist/dancer performing. Cut to ELS as she finishes act and takes a bow (747). ""To Keep fit, just try these", said the Three Odellys - "2 a.m. Gymnastics!" (754). Two ELSs of acrobatic act comprised of one female and two male performers, executing two routines (803). "A dancing contrast - the Harris Sisters - "(808). HAS/LS of two women singing (813). HAS/ELS of the women performing dance routine, again mainly of high kicks (819). MS of audience members laughing (822). HAS/ELS of women dancing and curtsying on finishing (831). "And the Waltz eternal - a graceful exposition by Carl Hyson and Peggy Harris" [may be one of the Harris Sisters] (838). ELS of duo performing dance [film begins to show signs of deterioration towards end of shot] (901). MS of applauding audience members [with obvious deterioration] (904ft). (Incomplete). [Throughout all of the acts in the Lido Club item audience members are visible seated at tables around the edge of the dancefloor, with the dance bandaccompanying the acts in the background. At the rear, a curtain bears the word "LIDO"]. Notes: The reference to the film in `The Bioscope' refers to it as EVE'S FILM REVIEW, not EVE AND EVERYBODY'S FILM REVIEW. All the intertitles in the film cite "EVE'S FILM REVIEW", not "EVE AND EVERYBODY'S FILM REVIEW".
