Synopsis: In Marseilles refugees fleeing fascist forces gather to escape to America. A German man, Georg takes the identity and visa papers of the writer Weidel, who has committed suicide. However, he falls in love with the mysterious Marie who is desperate to find the man that she loves and without whom she will not leave.
