Synopsis: Jack Malik, a struggling singer-songwriter living in an English seaside town is about to give up on his dream of musical fame and go back to his job working as a teacher, despite the devotion and support of his childhood best friend, Ellie. When a cosmic freak accident takes place during a global blackout, Jack discovers that the blackout has replaced the world as we know it with one in which The Beatles never existed and that he is the only person on Earth who knows the group’s songs. Initially, Jack can’t resist the opportunity to cash in on this good fortune but he soon discovers that his quest for fame and fortune may have cost him his friendship with Ellie.
