Natural Born Americans (Original title)
Date: 14 September 2000 (Television)

Country: United Kingdom

Director: David Upshal

Synopsis: American Indians have often been portrayed as true conservationists and guardians of nature, but is this view of them any more accurate than other stereotypes? Today, the Makah tribe defy conservationists by hunting whales and the Mashuntucket Pequots operate the world's biggest casino. Natural Born Americans examines their past relationship with the natural world, exploring how they used fire to shape the natural landscape and how they devastated the buffalo population through over-hunting, and looks at their relationship with environmentalists today.
