As well as the Indianola concert, the film include performances from two other venues, Club Ebony and Parchman Prison. King speaks about his early days in the cotton fields, his involvement with the civil rights movement, and the 20 years he spent on the Chitlin circuit before his music became fashionable to a white audience.
