Having survived an assassination attempt by an anti-games fanatic at the launch, the inventor persuades the game company's trainee marketing manager to join her in playing the game to assess the damage to her pod and to share in her addiction. Their ability to tell the real and imaginary worlds apart becomes increasingly difficult. (Synopsis) Science fiction. Superstar computer game designer Allegra Geller has just invented 'eXistenZ' - a new game designed to sweep away all barriers between reality and fantasy, aided by a "bioport" connecting the game to a player's nervous system. When Allegra arrives to present the game to the bosses of a large company, some of those present are attacked by a rival faction, the "anti-eXistenZialists". The situation is saved by specialist bodyguard Ted Pikul. He and Allegra escape into a strange world in which it appears that Allegra's life is at stake. (Synopsis)
