The king has decided to turn his kingdom into a haven of intellectual study. To this end, he persuades his three closest friends to take an oath in public to concentrate solely on their studies and, most importantly, avoid the company of all women. However, the princess of France arrives on a diplomatic mission accompanied by three very attractive ladies in waiting. The four young men try hard to resist but good intentions are soon overturned.
