- SynopsisSeven months after her daughter was murdered, Mildred Hayes is frustrated that the police investigation has gone quiet. Fuelled by grief, she provokes the local police department with a series of messages plastered on three disused billboards outside her home town of Ebbing, Missouri. Her actions lead to a public feud with venerated community leader Sheriff Willoughby, which is exacerbated by the behaviour of his blundering side-kick Officer Dixon. (Synopsis)
