- SynopsisRomantic comedy. Three young American women have adventures with the jet set in Monaco when one of them is mistaken for a VIP. Newly graduated Grace, her uppity stepsister Meg and best friend Emma take a trip to Paris, which turns out to be a big disappointment with a horrible hotel room and hurried guided tours. Bedraggled in the rain, they duck into a luxury hotel, where Grace is mistaken for British heiress Cordelia Winthrop Scott, due there to participate in charity events. In Cordelia's absence they are shown to her room and receive VIP treatment. In the morning, before they can slip away, they are whisked away on a private plane to Monte Carlo, to stay in a suite at the exclusive Hotel de Paris where Cordelia is soon to auction a fabulous diamond necklace for charity. With Grace a reluctant impostor, the girls have assorted adventures, involving two romances and the accidental loss of the necklace. When the real Cordelia turns up, complications abound, especially as Grace and the charity director's son have begun a tentative romance. The girls see that Cordelia is a snob who does not care about the people helped by her charity work, and events come to a head at the auction. (Synopsis)
