- SynopsisHorror. In the late 19th century, nobleman Lawrence Talbot returns from America to his family estate in the English hamlet of Blackmoor, lured by the mysterious disappearance of his brother. He finds that strange, bloody killings have been occurring in the vicinity, which Scotland Yard's Inspector Aberline has been sent to investigate. As Talbot starts falling for his brother's fiancée Gwen, he encounters a fearsome wolf-like being, whose bite carries terrifying consequences. (Synopsis)
- Work historyThe film's production notes say, "When director Joe Johnston was brought on to the project, he took over the reigns from Mark Romanek, who departed during pre-production." The credits include "Assistant to Mr. Von Sydow - Catherine Von Sydow", though there is no other Von Sydow in the credits. Max Von Sydow was cut from the theatrical release but appears in the DVD 'director's cut'.
