- SynopsisExamines the question of clandestine US involvement in Croatia which could be a breach of the UN embargo of all military supplies to either side in the conflict. Brac Island is 20 miles off the coast of Croatia. A group of Americans arrived and took up residence for several months. They were met by plain clothed Croatian police and took residence in a closed hotel. They worked at a remote airstrip, soon unmanned Gnat 750 spy planes were flying over Croatia, apparently gathering intelligence. Locals were told to say nothing and ask no questions. Americans arrived in Zagreb to instruct at the military academy from a private organisation called MPRI, next to the Pentagon in Washington. It employs an elite band of retired US army officers, who still have top level contact with the US military. Last year it signed contracts with the Croatian government to 'instil democratic values in teh Croatian army'. Zagreb Military Academy would give no information to the programme makers about US involvement. MPRI deny all involvement in Croatia. (NFA Catalogue)
