- SynopsisComedy. In Newcastle-upon-Tyne, two teenage friends, Gerry and Sewell, spend as much time together as possible to escape from their home lives. Gerry and his family are constantly on the move to avoid their alcoholic father, who periodically appears, only to steal what little money they have. Sewell lives with his senile grandfather, having been abandoned by his parents years previously. The one thing that gives them hope is the impossible dream of season tickets to see their favourite football team, Newcastle - the only snag being that the tickets are around a thousand pounds each. The narrative takes place over a year as the two try out different strategies to get their hands on the money. (Synopsis)
