- SynopsisA three-part drama about the Spanish Armada set against a background of daily life among Elizabethan seamen, merchants and ordinary citizens. The main protagonist is a fifteen year-old boy who is assigned to serve with Sir Francis Drake. When the `Nuestra Señora del Rosario', the first Spanish ship to be taken during the campaign, is captured, the boy returns to Devon with a Spanish prisoner, who escapes. He finds that personal friendship and love can conflict with national need. He returns to the English fleet as Drake prepares for the fireship attack on Calais. The individual programme titles are: The Spanish are coming; Family against family; Victory. (Synopsis)
