- SynopsisProduction footage for the OMNIBUS programme on Quentin Tarantino (tx. 25.10.94) of an interview with producer Lawrence Bender. Bender describes how he first met Tarantino, how the latter gave him the script of RESERVOIR DOGS and how he then tried to raise the money for the production. Bender relates how the script came to the attention of Harvey Keitel and how the latter worked to get the production up and running. Bender describes what Tarantino was like on the set of RESERVOIR DOGS, how his experience as an actor was invaluable to his work with the cast, and the amount of pre-production he undertook before shooting began, including rehearsals. Bender then talks about how word on the film began to spread during production and the film's eventual box office success, though he says that people concentrate on the film's violent elements too much when discussing the film. The production deals behind PULP FICTION are then described, as well as Tarantino's writing of the screenplay and the casting of the film. Bender explains that so many star names wanted to be involved because they wished to work with Tarantino, being especially attracted by his dialogue. Continued on tape 20. (NFA Catalogue)
