- SynopsisGirls suffering from anorexia nervosa often adopt a pseudo vegetarian diet deficient in nutrients as a slimming aid. But a real interest in vegetarianism is inspired by seeing animal rights and Vegetarian Society videos such as FOOD WITHOUT FEAR at school. The Rhodes Farm clinic in north London feeds chicken and fish to sufferers but the girls intend to resume a vegetarian diet. Some farmers open their non-intensive farms to persuade children that their methods are humane. Pre-cooked vegetarian foods are inadequate: fresh fruit and vegetables are necessary. Linda McCartney's vegetable burgers understated the fat content and were withdrawn until this had been remedied. Speakers include Dr Dee Dawson of the Rhodes Farm Clinic; vegetarian Juliet Gellatley of VIVA: farmer Bruce Loughman; home economics teacher June Scarborough; Tracey Collinson-Smith of Voeicker Science; Steve Holland of Norfolk Trading Standards; and nutritionist Prof Tom Saunders.
