- SynopsisCanadian troops arrive at Salisbury Plain for training. (Synopsis) "TO AID THE MOTHERLAND. Canadians arrive at Salisbury Plain for training before going to the Front" (11). A group of soldiers sits on a grass verge beside a road, in front of a large vehicle with tyre-less wheels and a tractor at the front. One of the soldiers reads a newspaper and the others crowd round him (26). Soldiers stand in front of a line of tents. Pan to right along line of soldiers, and a few of the men begin to dance a little jig. Others look on smiling. Two soldiers begin to box (57). HAS a group of soldiers, carrying their kit. In background five heavily laden horsedrawn carts cross the Plain. Several of the men toss their kits in the air and catch them (75). CU of one of the soldiers watching the others and laughing. He looks at the camera and then turns away (101ft). (Shotlist)
