- SynopsisThe RUC in Northern Ireland recruit young teenagers who have been in trouble are known to be involved on the fringes of the IRA. In the case examined Willie Knight, whose father was a British soldier stationed in Northern Ireland who fell in love with a Catholic woman from a Republican family, was told at the age of 15 that they would tell his Republican associates who his father was unless he co-operated. He agreed out of fear and passed information. He went to live in England, his history of petty crime continued, and he was jailed for arson for three years. He was released from Dartmoor but his father doesn't want him back. BIG STORY took him to meet with his mother for the first time in 6 years. Northern Ireland police declined to take part in the programme. His father feels children should not be used in this way and it is endangering their lives. (NFA Catalogue)
