- SynopsisTalbot Roe has been driven to the brink of madness by the death of his half-Indian wife. Roe's father finds Eamon McCree from whom he bought the Indian woman and kidnaps McCree's second daughter in the hope that she will replace the dead woman and cure his son's delirium. (Synopsis) Drama set in the American prairies in the 1870s. The story involves a horse dealer and his dealings with the drunken owner of a medicine show, whose half-breed daughter married his son. The daughter and her twin sister were the offspring of the mountebank and an outcast Kiowa Indian, whose tongue had been ripped out by her tribe as punishment for lying. When his son's wife dies in childbirth, the horse dealer sets out to barter for the sister to replace her and assuage his son's grief. (Synopsis)
