- SynopsisTRICK. A magician performs a series of tricks. Main title (4). A magician dressed in frock coat and trousers gradually appears sitting on a table in an ornately decorated room. He steps onto a stool then onto the table from where he jumps. His trousers change into a pair of satin breeches and stockings. He magically moves the table into the centre of the room and conjures up a suitcase that when opened reads 'magical box' on the inside of the lid. With a piece of cloth he conjures a stand to which he affixes parts of a dancer - the legs, tutu, and head - all of which are conjured from the suitcase. The dancer is brought to life and she performs a little ballet. He then turns the dancer into pieces of paper and scatters the pieces into the suitcase turning them into a piece of cloth. A stick is attached to the cloth and it becomes a parasol. Using the parasol as cover he changes his costume again and from the parasol conjures up seven dancing girls. When they have finished their dance he makes all but one disappear and changes her costume into that of a Japanese woman. The others are conjured up in similar costumes and they all dance again. The magician uses the parasol to make them all disappear. He then disappears along with the parasol. He emerges, dressed in breeches and frock coat, from the arch at the back of the room. He steps onto the table, from which he jumps, turning his breeches into trousers. He then sits on the table and gradually disappears (291ft). Note: English title. (Shotlist)
