Synopsis: A look at racial attacks and the low number of cases which are brought to court. Stephen Lawrence was murdered in Eltham and his attackers are still free. Mukhtar Ahmed was attacked by 20 white youths and nearly died. In both cases witnesses identified some of those responsible, but even when charges were brought, they were then dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service.
