Harry herds his sheep along a road, he meets Mary carrying pails of water and helps her. They stop and kiss and agree to meet later. Harry waits at the trysting place by a spring. Mary arrives and they go for a walk. He gives her love tokens and a ribbon. However, an angry bull disturbs their spooning. Harry runs leaving Mary behind. Later, when they meet up again she is angry with him and throws back the love tokens (898). Mary goes to her grandmother's house. Mack and his friend dig their claim. Mack discovers a diamond and is cheered by the other miners (298). Mack (referred to as Jock) takes the diamond to the diamond buyers J. Mereden Kamp where it is examined and weighed. Mack is given a large amount of money(465). Mack decides to return to Scotland and says goodbye to his fellow miners. They cheer him off (515). Harry lauder, dressed as a Highlander with a crooked walking stick performs a comical song and jig in a garden (515). Note: The various intertitles refer to Peggy as Peggy and Peggie. In the film entitles I love a Lassie - Peggy is referred to as Mary. The Harry Lauder character is referred to as Mack in the early scenes of the film, Sandy in the I Love a Lassie film and as Jock in the later films.
