- SynopsisWar drama. In the winter of 1948, the Battle of Huai-Hai, the most brutal battle in Chinese history, began as the People's Liberation Army and the Nationalist Army clashed in Huai-Hai and Bengbu. Captain Gu Zi Di, his forty six soldiers and nine regiments of the Liberation Army have an order to hamper the advance of the enemy. Gu Zi Di and his men hold their position, however, when all other units are withdrawn for an assembly call, Gu Zi Di doubts whether he heard the call and fears his men might die for his mistake. In the end, Gu Zi Di survives alone and forty six of his men are reported missing due to not being identified. Gu Zi Di departs on a long journey to recover their honour. (Synopsis)
