- SynopsisFourth part of the nine part drama series. It is now 1970, Geordie and Nicky meet up for a disastrous London reunion. Geordie is now one of Benny Barratt's chief henchmen but the collaboration between the Soho porn barons and Scotland Yard is threatened when an investigation is instigated. Geordie leaves London and ends up at a seaside boarding house where he meets and falls in love with Daphne. However he is summoned back to London and is arrested, having been framed by Barratt and CID. The corruption in the North East housing industry is also under scrutiny threatening Donohue's empire. Nicky is heavily involved with a radical armed group but is forced to leave London and return home to protect his anarchist colleagues who are concerned that his links with Geordie may lead to police investigation. He meets up with Mary and Tosker. Tosker now runs a successful greengrocery business from a van, bought with money given him by Benny Barrat, and he has plans to buy a shop with a flat above it. Mary has gone into local politics in which Tosker has no interest, and he and Mary find that they are growing apart and only have the past to connect them. Nicky's family are horrified to discover a machine gun under his bed, and Felix and Eddie Wells berate Nicky about his politics, attitude and armed violence. Felix orders him out of the house and he and Eddie dispose of the gun by burying it out at the allotments. (Synopsis)
