ITEM 2 RADIO SOAP A look at 'Merseysiders' on BBC Radio Merseyside - local radio's only soap opera (twice-weekly). (NB Co-funded for script development and actors by local education and health authorities, Merseyside Police etc). Interviews include Keith Birch (creator/script editor); Ev Draper (producer); writers. ITEM 3 LIVERPOOL AS A 'MEDIA CITY' FOR THE 1990s? Could Liverpool (or Sheffield) become the base city for the new, regional, Channel 5 proposed in the 1989 White Paper on Broadcasting? Which city can offer the best business plan? The Media Show visits writers' workshops in Liverpool.
