- SynopsisAt a highly pressurised weekend, Republican senator Walter Partin is groomed by a team of advisers led by his campaign manager Bob Rutherford. A journalist, Michael Tyne is brought in to act as his opponent, Philip Kautsky, in a mock-up of the forthcoming televised debate. During the course of the weekend Tyne turns up some information about the corporation which sponsors Partin which, if published, could damage seriously Partin's credibility as a presidential candidate. The title is taken from an apocryphal joke attributed to Joseph P. Kennedy, that he "was happy to buy an election for Jack Kennedy, but not a landslide". The film was shot on location and in the studio in New York in July and August during the Democratic Convention. (Synopsis)
