- SynopsisIn 1960s London, Sir Edward More, a wealthy middle-aged art dealer in a loveless marriage meets and falls in love with cinema usherette Margot Hansen. After leaving his family for Margot, the couple move to a villa in Spain. More suffers the death of his daughter and loses his sight in a car accident, becoming dependent on Margot. But she cruelly exploits her husband when unbeknownst to More she moves her art-forger lover Hervé into their villa. (Synopsis)
- Work historyCast note: Richard Burton was originally cast in the role of Sir Edward More but was replaced by Nicol Williamson after two weeks’ shooting. Many sources cite Siân Phillips character name as Elizabeth but the end credits name her as Pamela More. Location note: Filmed on location in England and Majorca.
