- SynopsisRecord of the day in May 1978 when 600 members of the police, army and state unions moved in to evict members of the Ngati Whatua tribe who had been occupying some acres of their ancestral land in the middle of Auckland, known as Bastion Point. The Maoris had been in occupation for 506 days. In the course of the eviction the Maori meeting house was destroyed and 222 people were arrested. (Synopsis)
