- Scripts / DocumentsScript: draft - Shooting script based on an original screenplay by Robert Shearer. Working copy, belonging to director Robert Hartford-Davis, heavily annotated and corrected, with pasted in dialogue amendments. The copy is marked 'No .2' and 'Pinewood Job 120' on the title page; there is a pink silk marker ribbon attached, no date c.1971. [A comedy/tragedy 'film-within-a-film', based on the difficulties encountered by the director of a World War I epic. The troublesome film being made in the film, 'The Battle of the Somme' is in fact a real-life unrealised project of Hartford-Davis's. See SCR-20626 for a screenplay of this. Nobody Ordered Love was on limited release through Rank in 1972. Hartford-Davis had a disagreement with Rank over their poor promotion of the film and took the prints with him to the United States where he continued to work. After his death it was thought that the cans of film were disposed of. The film appears on the BFI 'Missing Believed Lost' list, as no copies are known to exist.] Donor: Royal Books - SCR-20625
