    KILLING A MOUSE ON SUNDAY Published October 1961. Set during the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War. Fred Zinnemann paid EP £30,000 to adapt the novel for the screen. However Zinnemann was not happy with the result so EP withdrew. The novel was then adapted by J.P Miller and became the film BEHOLD A PALE HORSE (US, 1964).
