Country: United Kingdom

Synopsis: M&K 757: Films of various real locations involved with the case of the embezzler Thomas Goudie.Shotlist: M&K 757: Main (replacement) titles (00.15). Shot of a corner terraced house front door and part of ground floor window. The patterned curtains are closed in the window, and the road sign "Berry Street" is fixed to the wall above the door. (There appears to be a single digit door number) (01.16). Cut to further along the same house, which has a small wall with box-shape patterned railings under the front ground floor window. A man with a blanket/shawl wrapped round his shoulders on top of a jacket, and what looks like a back-to-front cap on his head, walks past. [NB. There seems to be a small white card in the window] (01.25). Anothe man walks past (02.11). Cut. Shot of a pedestrian bridge going over a road, with stone steps at the side and some people on the steps. A lot of people line along the top of the bridge in the background and various people and children hover around or cross the road (02.30. Cut to the bottom of the bridge steps and a crowd of various women, men and children. They seem to be looking up the street (behind the camera) as though waiting for something. The building behind them on the left hand view has a large barrel attached to the wall over its door) (02.52). Cut. Shot of the side of a shabby-looking house, showing three windows (the curtain in one window only covers the bottom half and looks strung up rather hung) (03.13). Cut. A foggy/smoky scene with a large building in the background, behind a large advertising hoarding. The latter contains adverts for "Beaty Bros Overcoats" (looks like "Church St" is underneath the word "overcoats"); Oxo; Roderick DHU Scotch Whisky; and what looks like a box camera and something costing 10'6 (ten shillings and sixpence). The tops of other large buildings can be seen in the right hand view (03.35). Cut to the outside of an official-looking walled building with chunky entrance pillars and opened wooden doors (containing a notice) leading into a yard and side entrance. There are also posts and chains. The word "Police" is visible over the doorway [the other word following it is obscured by the time code (it possibly says Police Entrance)]. A uniformed (but not helmeted) man stands in the doorway. A bowler-hatted man comes out of the door and another walks past (03.47). Cut to shot of what may be another entrance of the same building. The road curves to lead into the building's environs and it is fronted with a low knee-high wall and squat pillars, with a lamp on top, at the entrance. There is a large noticeboard in front of it, with various bills and posters. Two men look at the board (04.05). Cut back to the same side entrance as before, but from a slightly different angle. This shows another set of pillars behind the entrance ones, leading into the yard (there are four large barrels on their side against the far wall of the yard). Two men appear from the side and walk through both sets of pillars towards the camera. They are both bowler-hatted and walk in what looks like a regulated way (policeman's tread ?). They look almost identical, they are dressed the same, both wear bowler hats and have identical moustaches (04.38 minutes). End.
