Synopsis: Follows the fortunes of a group of rail track workers based at a South Yorkshire depot as the privatisation of British Rail takes effect. An accumulation of small incidents and comic episodes depict the devastating consequences for both the workers and their families of 'flexible working' and dramatic cost-cutting.
