Synopsis: Film about a small-time theatrical company in post World War II Liverpool. Sixteen-year-old Stella gets a position as assistant stage manager in 1947. She soon gets involved in the interpersonal relationships and power plays behind the stage, and falls for Meredith Potter, the owner of the company. When actor P.L. O'Hara joins the group, she starts an affair with him, but still loves Potter.
