Synopsis: A re-telling of the Arthurian legend, focusing on the history and politics of the period during which King Arthur supposedly ruled. This version sets the story in fifth century Britannia, at the end of the Roman occupation. Arthur is a half-Briton, half-Roman commander in the departing Roman army who gradually comes to recognise his destiny as the one who must unite and lead a divided land against a new enemy -the Saxons.
