Synopsis: Drama based on the true story of how 73 year old Alvin Straight travelled three hundred miles across Iowa and Wisconsin to visit his ailing brother, riding a 1966 John Dere lawnmower.Synopsis: Drama. Alvin Straight is a 73-year-old widower who lives with his daughter in a small town in Iowa. Alvin's health is failing, mainly due to his staunch refusal to see a doctor, until he becomes ill and is taken to hospital. Shortly afterwards he hears that his brother has suffered a stroke, and he becomes determined to visit him in Wisconsin - by any means possible.
