Synopsis: Middle-aged Alice is at her mother's bedside in hospital when she is surprised by the arrival of Morris, her brother who she hasn't seen for fifty years. A flashback to 1943 shows the family's excitement at moving into a suburban home newly connected to an electricity supply. Morris becomes fascinated by electric bulbs, associating them with the light of God. His behaviour becomes more bizarre until he is finally sent away for psychiatric help. Back in 1993 Morris' mother regains consciousness and is reunited with her son.
