Synopsis: Salman RUSHDIE was originally to play the Willem DAFOE part (then called Dr Singh), but seven weeks into shooting it became clear that the crew's safety could not be guaranteed to the unions' satisfaction. DAFOE took the part 24 hours after being offered it. Wim WENDERS was originally to direct and is thanked in the credits.Synopsis: Izzy Maurer is a musician who falls into a deep depression after he is injured by a bullet fired in a nightclub which prevents him from playing music for a living any more. Eventually he meets and begins a mysterious relationship with Celia Burns, an actress.
