Synopsis: Poet Michael Hofmann travels to the Bavarian home of his father, the renowned German novelist Gert Hofmann, and together the pair embark on a quest to trace their ancestors in old East Germany, in spite of some antagonism between the two, which has shown itself in Michael's poems "Acrimony" in which he was scathing about his father.
