- SynopsisWhile searching for S.P.E.C.T.R.E. chief Blofeld, James Bond rescues Tracy, an heiress who was about to drown herself. With her help he is able to gain entry to Blofeld's mountaintop hideout in Switzerland, where, under the cover of running a clinic, the criminal is experimenting with a deadly virus. Bond destroys the hideout, but Blofeld escapes. Bond and Tracy get married, but their happiness is ruined by Blofeld's desire for revenge. (Synopsis)
- Work historyAdditional Credit: The Producers gratefully acknowledge the help and co-operation of Her Majesty's College of Arms and Heralds, The Schilthornbahn A.G. of Mürren, Swizterland, The Ford Motor Company. The film had a royal world premiere at the Odeon in Leicester Square, London on 18 December 1969 in the presence of the Duke and Duchess of Kent. It opened in London's West End the following day before going on general release from 1 March 1970. In January 1970, trade journal Today's Cinema ran a tie-in competition offering its readers (mainly cinema owners) the chance to win a Ford Escort car, the same model seen in the film's ice racing scene.
